Caution

• The sync version has been increased, so you will have to update both the server (if any) and the desktop client.

• For (advanced) manual setups only: Following a tooling change, the main entry point has changed from main.js to main.cjs. Same goes for the Electron build.
• There have been reports that Trilium Web Clipper is not compatible with this version. If you make heavy use of it, perhaps wait for the upcoming bugfix version.

• A huge amount of work was done by @perfectra1n to integrate LLMs such as Ollama and ChatGPT into Trilium.
  • The goal is not to have basic API integration, but to really let the LLM understand the notes that are part of your knowledge base.

  • Since this is highly experimental work, the LLM chat functionality might work well or it might have quite a few quirks, please keep this in mind.

  • For editable notes, clicking on a code block will reveal a toolbar with a way to easily change the programming language and another button to copy the text to clipboard.
  • For read-only notes, a floating button allows copying the code snippet to clipboard.
• Math in text notes: equations can now be displayed on multiple lines by @SiriusXT

Works in my test instance using OpenAI, but it only works in Edge/Chrome. In FireFox, the chat responses don't seem to stream. Haven't tested the desktop client.

Nope, no errors are logged to the console or server in FireFox (139.0.1). Something of note, if I start a chat in FireFox and then open that same chat in Edge, the responses are displayed fine, so it seems to be a rendering issue within FireFox. Great update! Only gripe, the new bookmark feature is available in the fixed toolbar, but not the floating toolbar, or am I missing something?

Edit: I see that in the fixed toolbar you can add bookmarks at any location (with or without first selecting text). With the floating toolbar, you can set a bookmark after selecting a text.

I've moved it to the + section of the block toolbar instead of the selection one.

Is it just me ? since I updated to 0,94, I cannot see where I select/hightlight text in a line anymore. This is extremely frustrating if I want to format words or lines in a text, as the marked word isn't visible unntil I actively use the formating toolbar.

If you're using a custom theme you need to make a temporary change. If you're using the classic theme, I would recommend to switch to the next theme.

Hello TriliumNext Notes Team,
first of all big "thank you" for all your work.
I did upgrade the 2 clients (both Debian 12 based) and the server.
But when starting Trilium on the clients nothing happens.
Looking into the running processes on the client I see several ones with trilium (I am using BTOP).
When starting trilium from the CLi I am getting that error message

I can downgrade the clients to 0.93.0 and it starts without any problems. Of course I cannot sync with the server, because of the different DB version 0.93.0 has 229 while 0.94.0 has 231 and different sync version.

The server version runs as docker container.

quick update. I was daring and did the client update on my desktop PC running Debian 13 (trixie) and that went through without a problem. Also to mention is that the two Debian 12 clients run on X11 while the Debian 13 (trixie) runs with SWAY.

Newer versions of Debian are shipped with a newer version of glibc :)
