A GTFS-ride dataset consists of a series of text files collected in a ZIP file. Each file contains a particular aspect of ridership data. The details of each file are defined in the GTFS-ride reference. An example dataset can be found in GTFS-ride examples. A transit agency can produce a GTFS-ride dataset to share their ridership data with developers, coordinating agencies, funders, and government organizations.
