Text Grab 4.1.3

Mainly bug fixes around History files for the packaged version of Text Grab. No new feature changes.

Text Grab 4.1

History Service

• Open recently closed Edit Text Windows
• Open recently closed Grab Frames
• Open Fullscreen Grabs into Grab Frames for refinement
• Grab last region of the screen

New CLI Options

• New flag --windowless will do OCR on files or open .txt files and put the content directly into the clipboard
• This flag also suppresses the "About Text Grab" window which appears at first launch

Improved Tesseract Support

• Get list of Tesseract Languages for FSG language picker
• Make sure EXE can be found before allowing feature to be enabled
• Fail more gracefully when EXE cannot be found

Grab Frame improvements

• Copy text context option
• Open Recent Grab Frames option

Quick Simple Lookup Improvements

• Button to use in touch scenarios where ENTER is not convenient

Edit Text Window

• Open recent texts content dropdown
• Open recent Grabs dropdown
• Grab previous region option
• Edit Last Grab option

QR Code improvements

• Drag code out of window to wherever you need it
• Copy code image directly to clipboard
• More descriptive names by default

Main New Feature

Auto-Paste

• Inspired by the new "Paste as Plain Text" PowerToy
• In different modes
  • Full Screen Grab
  • Edit Text Window
  • Quick Simple Lookup
• Turn on in settings
• Replaces previous "Try Insert" behavior

Other features

Edit Text Window

• New "Launch URL" function
  • Identify a URL
  • Enables when URL is valid
• New "Limit each line" capability under "Add, Remove, Limit" menu item

Quick Simple Lookup

• Can Auto-Paste result
• Saving behavior works more consistently

Grab Frame

• Match count now counts repeats within a line

General

• Will decode base64 encoded image when pasting from Teams
• Reorganized code with CodeMaid (https://www.codemaid.net/)
• More tests

Text Grab 3.2 Introduces several major features, and many improvements throughout the application.

Grab Frame

• Add, Remove, Resize, and Move lines
• More advanced searching capabilities
• A menu for additional options and behavior adjustments

Edit Text Window

• Fully customizable bottom bar

Full-Screen Grab

• Table recognition is an option

Quick Simple Lookup

• Hold CTRL+ALT to launch Right-side value if it is a valid URI

This 2nd preview is mostly bug fixes and improvements.

Grab Frame:

• Make OCR button clearer when not using the auto OCR option
• Fixed issue with. Break into words not respecting new lines.
• Improve the shortcut keys to not be activated when searching.
• Add the context menu to the search bar.

Full Screen Grab

• Use a DPI aware package to place new Windows
