Playlist folder hierarchy

I use a shit ton of playlists. I currently have about 40 of them and it's a pain in the ass to find the one i need. usually means i don't end up using a lot of them.

Describe the solution you'd like
In the playlist bar to the left I want to be able to create a playlist folder. I can drag and drop playlists into or out of the folder, and collapse it with a dropdown arrow. Ideally it should be coded so you can recurse folders at least a couple times - use colored bars to the side rather than shrinking the playlist name itself

Describe alternatives you've considered
alternatively you could set the sort order for playlists manually, maybe alphabetically or by most recent change (not just refresh from changed file but actually change). wouldn't be as good though. or maybe both

I use a lot of playlists too.
Have you tried a global search? It can search playlists too.

I personally don't use search I just scroll through the list of playlists in the left side-panel

Regarding the idea: it could be something like a tab-stacking browser feature, where you can create a stack of tabs by dragging one tab on top of another and set color for stack or name it.

It could work for horizontal tabs but not sure how it would work for the playlists side-panel..

@Solarunit the tab-stacking thing is EXACTLY what i was imagining, and it would work just as well for the side panel

I think it could be interesting and unique feature for a music player, but not easy to implement.
