Once a teacher's account generates a course, it can be distributed to student accounts, and the backend can view student completion and response statuses. If this isn't available, would you consider adding it in the future? Thank you!

Hi @Ralmia-SonicRacer! Thanks for the question! Short answer: OpenMAIC currently has no teacher/student account system, nor any built-in access control mechanism.

There are related community discussions already in progress:

• #287 — A user reported that CODE/ACCESS_CODE environment variables have no effect; this is because these features were never implemented
• #293 — A proposed site-level access-code gate (proxy.ts + HttpOnly cookie) to address [Bug]: Authentication (CODE/ACCESS_CODE) fails to trigger a password prompt and erroneously overrides the Server-side API Key #287, currently awaiting maintainer review

Frankly, a multi-role teacher/student system (course distribution, progress tracking, etc.) is a highly specialized requirement. Given the project's current scope, it's unlikely to be PR'd into main in the near term. If you find this direction important, I'd encourage you to leave your use case and requirements in #287 / #293 — community momentum helps push prioritization.

That said, I do maintain a research-grade fork of MAIC with student authentication, behavioral telemetry, and an analytics dashboard. However, since it's tied to a specific academic study, the full fork isn't suitable for public release at this point. If you have a strong teaching/research use case, I'd be happy to selectively share relevant commits for cherry-picking. Feel free to follow up here if that would be helpful.
