Exclusion Zone Configuration

Hi everyone,
I am trying to find top-k motifs on a univariate time series. Based on the example on the tutorial, I used "Steamgen Dataset". But I couldn't comprehend why do we need to exclude local area https://stumpy.readthedocs.io/en/latest/Tutorial_STUMPY_Basics.html
But in the first part of tutorial, I understood the default exclusion zone parameter is already set. So why it is still finds the motifs in the exclusion zone?
