"SynthEBD has crashed." (And an Unrelated Question) #121
Comments
Can you hit the Environment Details button in the Status Log and let me know if SynthEBD is correctly seeing your load order? As for the other question, it looks like you have config files installed already, so you'd install config file for Diamond Skin the same way. It's on Pamonha's page. I could have sworn he had one for The Pure as well, but I'm not seeing it. You could take a look at how the other ones are set up and take a crack at making it yourself if you'd like. |
I am so so sorry, but I'm actually starting over. It's my first time modding Skyrim and I could not get the game to work at all (crashes, glitches, etc), and since I couldn't narrow down what the issue was, I decided to nuke it all and start over from scratch. I was following a guide but due to a lack of impulse control I went entirely off the guide and I'm like 95% sure that's what did it. I'm gonna be starting over when I wake up during work. I do still plan on using SynthEBD so if I find it happens again I'll post here and let you know. Separately, thanks for the link. I'll use that when I reinstall it. |
Sounds good! Happy to try to help whenever you get to it. Also, hope you’re not a taxi driver, pilot, or medical resident ;) |
Hey! First... I am none of those things. Second... I could have sworn I installed everything correctly... installed EBD, watched the video for installing with MO2, and all of it. Luckily we aren't crashing, now, but... Errors detected in Config File Diamond Skin 2.2 CBBE |
I downloaded the Diamond skin patch from your link and downloaded the required files from the link on the... installer...?... as well. Not sure what's going on here... ETA: Disabling Diamond Skin worked and it was able to patch, but I did get a lot of "No valid asset packs could be for for..." (insert a lot of different things in place of the ellipses lol) |
When you install a config file using the "Install Config from Archive" button, after pointing it to your texture mod downloads, it extracts the .zip/.7z archives and complains if it doesn't see a texture that should be present: "The following expected files were not found in the selected mod archives:" followed by a list of missing textures. Did you see any such messages? If not, I'm assuming the textures were found and installed - did you close SynthEBD, activate the newly generated mod in your mod manager, and relaunch SynthEBD? |
I'm pretty sure it was enabled but now that I look, SynthEBD didn't see Diamond Skin, so... hmm... |
@Piranha91 I deleted the Diamond skin pack and that got it to work. Sadly, I had other issues not related to SynthEBD that kinda made me feel burnt out on trying to mod/play Skyrim, so I'm gonna put it down for now and come back to it at some point in the future. (I did not expect it to be this hard LMAO) |
Hello, I am experience a very similar issue. SynthEBD was working a few days ago. Now it isn't.
Error messages and environment details below:
### Environment Details Data Folder: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data |
How do I fix this?
SynthEBD has crashed with the following error:
An object implementing IHandleObservableErrors (often a ReactiveCommand or ObservableAsPropertyHelper) has errored, thereby breaking its observable pipeline. To prevent this, ensure the pipeline does not error, or Subscribe to the ThrownExceptions property of the object in question to handle the erroneous case.

Quite separately, once I get this crash error fixed and can use SynthEBD, how would I use it to install Diamond Skin and The Pure?
