After analyzing different points of view, it is important to identify which ideas are correct and which are not. In this section we will synthesize ideas from both editorials and come up with our own view on the impeachment inquiry.

Synthesis Question
-->

Is Ukraine-Gate something we should brush off or is it and impeachable offense that
should be agreed on by the Congress?

Synthesis Points

Lack of Logos

Both, New York Post and New York Times editorials, lack concrete evidences to support their arguments. This accurately reflects current situation in media, when authors lean towards using more pathos than logos to more effectively grab the reader. While this may bring more views and spark hot arguments, people are not getting convinced enough to increase the support of impeachment in the community.

Basis for Impeachment

While New York Post and New York Times have practically opposite views on the impeachment process, they both agree on inappropriate actions of American President. Post editorial board writes: “he [Trump] shouldn’t be encouraging foreign leaders to pursue cases that help him.” Trump was really asking for a “favor”, but should he be impeached?

Public Opinion

By combining ideas from both articles, we came up with a new point of view. Whether Trump’s action should lead to impeachment is dependent on people’s opinion. People are the main drivers of politicians’ initiatives and actions. American people will be judges of Trump's actions

Synthesis Question Answer

Even though Trump may have deserved to be impeached by the Congress, the people of the United States of America do not show strong
support for impeaching him. Balances are somwhere in the middle, but this is not enough to motivate Republican Senators to vote for impeachement in
effort of disassosiating themselfs with Trump. If people's opinion will remain the same, it is unlikely that Trump will get impeached in his current term.
