Nearly every dialer I've used has a function which allows the user to quickly call the last number they had a call with (incoming or outgoing).

This is typically accomplished by pressing the "call" button without a number already typed in - ie, pressing "call" would auto-fill with the last number, and pressing it a second time would then dial out to that number.

Very minor thing, but it's a nice quality of life boost!
