Issue description

Hello,

We used to reference FluentUI icons for list formatting, especially the iconName attribute, which is linked to the Fluent UI font (FabricMDL2Icons-*).

Since the rebranding of Yammer / Viva Engage, users asks their icon to be updated as well. But it seems like there's no such update regarding icon: Yammer one is still available but not Viva Engage one.

Is there an update planned regarding this?

Thanks for raising this. From what I see, this issue isn’t specific to SharePoint itself but relates to the Fluent UI icon set that SharePoint uses for column formatting. Currently, the Viva Engage icon doesn’t appear to be included in the Fluent UI icons library yet, which is why it’s not showing up when using the iconName attribute.

Until Fluent UI adds the Viva Engage icon, SharePoint won’t be able to display it natively.

I recommend keeping an eye on Fluent UI updates or raising a feature request with them to add the Viva Engage icon.

Strange, because the Viva Engage icon is indeed referenced here:

And before raising this, I've also asked for a non coloured version of the Viva Engage icon here.

Thanks for the clarification, and I appreciate you pointing this out.

Apologies for the confusion in my earlier response — I had assumed SVG icons like the Viva Engage one wouldn't work in this context, and I overlooked the fact that you've already raised the issue in the Fluent UI repo.

It does seem like the icon exists in Fluent UI, but possibly isn't being surfaced or rendered as expected in the SharePoint column formatting scenario.
Since this behavior isn’t documented, it appears to fall into the category of a feature request. I’ll go ahead and raise one from my end as well to help give it additional visibility.
