From MS Learn: Deploy a claims provider in SharePoint and CS1911 (access to member through a 'base' keyword from a lambda expression)

Hello,
I have stumbled upon the code presented here:

I do realize why you would not want to call base members inside lambdas etc. - but what I don't understand why it is used that way in the example - where there are no lambda calls.

So my question is why would I want to have

 public class FarmFeatureEventReceiver : SPClaimProviderFeatureReceiver
 {

     //...

     public override void FeatureActivated(SPFeatureReceiverProperties properties)
     {
         ExecBaseFeatureActivated(properties);
     }

     private void ExecBaseFeatureActivated(Microsoft.SharePoint.SPFeatureReceiverProperties properties)
     {
         base.FeatureActivated(properties);

         //some other operations on activation
     }
}

Instead of just

 public class FarmFeatureEventReceiver : SPClaimProviderFeatureReceiver
 {

     //...

     public override void FeatureActivated(SPFeatureReceiverProperties properties)
     {
         base.FeatureActivated(properties);
     }
}

From my current understanding that wouldn't only matter in this scenario:

 public class FarmFeatureEventReceiver : SPClaimProviderFeatureReceiver
 {

     //...

     public override void FeatureActivated(SPFeatureReceiverProperties properties)
     {
        SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges(() =>
        {
            try
            {
                ExecBaseFeatureActivated(properties); // <- this
                //base.FeatureActivated(properties); // <- instead of this
            }
            catch (Exception ex)
            {
                //...
            }
        });
     }

     private void ExecBaseFeatureActivated(Microsoft.SharePoint.SPFeatureReceiverProperties properties)
     {
         base.FeatureActivated(properties);
     }
}
