can't get lightning/rtl/mempool to open

[pterotronic]

on mynode, can't get lightning/rtl/mempool to open. in lightning config, the default alias is 34 char. Sounds like 32 is the limit.
I tried truncating it, but doesn't help. I tried commenting/uncommenting the two lines regarding the lightning wallet. that didn't help either. I tried using clearnet and tor. that doesn't help. any other suggestions?

is there an rpc error here? i don't know much about it, but mynode is up and running, so I don't know why it would be a problem, and what other device is it trying to access? here is the status log:

Hi @pterotronic didn't quite get the problem from your description...

on mynode, can't get lightning/rtl/mempool to open

What are you trying to open from RTL? RTL doesn't have any view into mempool.space. It pulls the information from the mempool.space's API to display on RTL pages, when you're doing onchain operations e.g. open channel, close channel, on-chain send etc.

To make the above happen you need to configure RTL-Config.json with blockExplorerUrl under the "settings" section of the json e.g. it can be...

If mynode has a local instance of the mempool.space, you can provide its local url instead and that will work too

in lightning config, the default alias is 34 char. Sounds like 32 is the limit.

Not clear what's the relevance of this here. To configure mempool.space api access on RTL, you need to work with RTL config, not lightning config.

i just want to get lightning and rtl running on mynode. the only thing i have access to is the config file for lightning in mynode running on a pi. I don't see any json access or features on any of the mynode pages. mynode says that lnd is in error and directs us to the status page. So I assume we are supposed to be looking there and fixing something in the config, because that is the only thing there where any settings can be adjusted. mempool is also not working - i didn't know if these are all related somehow or not.

yes, bitcoin is fully sync'd. i don't think you can access any status/settings pages until bitcoin is sync'd and the blockchain is loaded. I don't think there is any mynode support for folks on the community edition
