unbound variable error when installing on macos

just did the install instructions, during ./claudebox.run I get the following:

In my case, I was working with the default bash that ships with macOS. This version has a bug/limitation with empty array handling when set -u is enabled.

Resolved by upgrading through brew install bash

I'd love to hear from the author on this project - is there any hope of #77 getting merged? Or is your preferred fix that ARM-based macs explicitly install bash?

I've been using the forked version from this pull request for a few weeks without issue on my M1.

Fix Available

PR #89 provides a comprehensive fix for this issue:

• Applies Bash 3.2 + set -u compatible patterns across all modules
• Fixes the root cause identified in commit 1e621cc (July 12, 2025)
• Tested and working on macOS with default Bash 3.2.57
• No need to brew install bash anymore

The fix applies safe array expansion patterns throughout 7 files:

# Instead of: "${array[@]}" (breaks in Bash 3.2 with set -u)
# Uses: "${array[@]+"${array[@]}"}" (Bash 3.2 compatible)

This is similar to PR #77 but provides more comprehensive coverage across all affected modules.

To slightly expand on the root cause here, MacOS out of the box ships an ancient Bash version 3.2 whereas the code here uses Bash 4+ syntax. The version you get from Homebrew is currently 5.3 so it's a lot more capable and current.
