Course catalog subject filters spread out on larger screens

I've noticed that when given enough horizontal and vertical space, the subject filters that appear on the course catalog when no filters are applied begin spreading out vertically. According to Miranda, this is not intentional behavior and was meant to be addressed at some point.

This behavior doesn't appear when the window is stretched purely horizontally or purely vertically. There is some horizontal and vertical size threshold at which this behavior presents itself.

In the above screenshot, the subject filters are vertically spaced more than they should be after being given enough horizontal and vertical space.

In the above screenshot, the screen is horizontally thin but tall, yet this behavior doesn't appear.

Same case in the above screenshot; stretching the screen horizontally only doesn't produce this behavior either.
