Mapmind currently uses an (outdated) version of OpenLayers. The changing of the OpenLayers API with every major version makes code maintenance somewhat cumbersome. Also their programming structure is getting more and more convoluted to my taste.
Mapbox seemed to offer powerful native support for various graphic operations, but was recently given a proprietary license. An open source fork was started at https://github.com/maplibre/maplibre-gl-js although it seems not (yet) as well documented as OpenLayers.
Should MapMind make the switch at some time? And for what reasons?
