Dashboard customization / display

Is it possible to assign a name to the hostname or IP address you specify in the configuration, which will then be displayed in the dashboard?
Is it possible to subdivide the dashboard so that you can distinguish locations, buildings or so?

i.e. an alias for the hostname/IP in the config file's main.hostnames.[] array?

Would you be OK with a separate alias section (different from the main.hostnames.[] array)?
