It can be seen for a fraction of a second. Not really a high priority issue though.

Is it preferable to flash the content in instead (using the fix-fouc class)? I don't think there's an easy way to get around this without some sort of flash.

I think a better way is to use the default filter to determine the visibility of the cards, and on noscript just show everything. It will flash for noscript users but that's like 0.01% of the users.
