Camera more-info dialog design concept

[dnestico]

Designed a concept idea based off #15, interested in feedback and hopefully the HA team likes it....

Live view with easy access to recordings/events in a mobile friendly list

Live view with timeline view for easy scrubbing through recordings

Camera PTZ control

Bonus: Camera settings menu

Looks great! How does the volume control work?

[dnestico]

Would just be a toggle I guess, like mute on/off.

Amazing work, thank you. I’ll share some suggestions and questions in this thread.

I see two top bars. Is that intentional? On mobile, we only show one.

What do these icon buttons do?

I see two top bars. Is that intentional? On mobile, we only show one.

There are two because I opened the camera entity from the dev tools page and its on mobile so it's the new dynamic dialog so it doesn't do look full screen anymore. The original image is a screenshot right from the HA mobile app, just put into Figma.

What do these icon buttons do?

The bell icon would be for muting AI detection notifications.

The middle icon is the PTZ icon and opens the PTZ controls.

I thought about removing that 3rd icon tbh but left it just in case for future ideas, that would be a multi view button for multiple cameras in a grid view.

That 1st button on the last row controls the recordings view, so either vertical list, if you tap it, changes the view to the horizontal timeline view, like the Reolink app.

Finally, that last icon would be a filter view for the recordings, so for example, the AI in frigate can detect multiple objects like Person, Car, Dog, and that would be to filter through them for easier search for the user.

Great work @dnestico! Look forward to this being implemented, his is long overdue. it's been barebones for far too long.

There should probably also be "two-way intercom" button for cameras with microphone and speakers (like most video doorbells)?

As well as a "make announcement" button ("bullhorn" icon) for you only want to make an one-way announcement using the speaker in that camera device?

FYI, for two-way intercom + one-way announcement features also join in these two roadmap discussions related to shaping those concepts:

• Make using video doorbells feel like established camera integrations roadmap#84

and

• Introduce two-way audio support for compatible devices roadmap#201
