Description
Hi,
This tool was kindly mentioned to me when asking for help about Steam overlay not receiving any input when using Gamescope on a Desktop (nested use case). I was hoping this would fix the issue, but sadly it doesn't (yet). At least not for me.
System: Fedora 42 KDE Wayland
Gamescope: 3.16.19-1

Without Gamescope, the Steam overlay can be accessed in game, but input is not recognized.

With Gamescope, at first the Steam overlay can't be accessed in game.
It's only possible, when providing the parameters "SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11" and "--backend sdl".
But then, input is not recognized again. Example:
SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 gamescope -f --backend sdl -- %command%
Now, when trying out scopebuddy, I can't access the Steam overlay at all. It looks like it is somehow opened, as the game is not receiving input anymore when the hotkey for Steam overlay is pressed, but the overlay is not visible. Pressing the hotkey again, the game is receiving input again.
Paramenters like the ones mentioned above don't help in this case.
I'm happy to provide more information, when needed.
Thank you!
ps.
I like the general idea of this tool, as it makes configuring gamescope with games so much easier. And the GUI buddy for this also looks promising, which I need to look at, too. Valve should really include something like this in their SteamOS when Steam Machine is released.
