Cheap baselines are adversaries, not optional decorations. A method that does not beat its relevant cheap baseline must not gain ranking authority.
Canonical benchmark entrypoints live in scripts/benchmarks/. Flat
scripts/benchmark_*.py paths remain transitional wrappers for historical
commands and docs.
