This issue is unique.

  • I have used the search tool and did not find an issue describing my bug.

Operating System

Linux (DEB package), Linux (RPM package)

Version information

8.2.2.22 (Flatpak)

Expected Behavior

Pressing the F4 key should change the type of cell reference (example, absolute reference: B2 -> $B$2) in a spreadsheet as per the documentation.

Actual Behavior

Pressing F4 does nothing.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Open a spreadsheet
  2. Type a value into a cell
  3. Go to a different cell
  4. Reference the first cell
  5. Press F4

Additional information

Tested on both Arch Linux and Fedora 41. There are no DEB or RPM packages for these distros, so ONLYOFFICE official Flatpak is installed instead.

Hi @hfc2x,
Please describe in more detail the technical specifications of your PC/laptop.

I don't think technical specifications are really relevant when dealing with Flatpaks, but I suppose I can list one of my laptops:

  • Acer Aspire A515-54 with Linux Mint 22 (X11)
  • 500GB NVMe Storage
  • 12 GB RAM
  • Intel Core i3-10110U CPU with integrated graphics

Tested on Fedora 41 (GNOME) for flatpack/snap/rpm packages and Linux Mint 22 (MATE) for flatpack/deb version 8.2.22, where the cell reference switching function works correctly, as before.
Maybe there are some details about your systems?
For example, if you are using a laptop, it is likely that the function keys work differently there, depending on the hardware manufacturer. Therefore, I am clarifying the technical data, manufacturer and model of your device.

I know about that setting, but I have function keys set to how they would work on a desktop. In fact, it also works that way in my desktop running Arch.

Here is me using the absolute reference function in LibreOffice, works as expected:

libreoffice_crop.mp4

And here is in ONLYOFFICE (yes, I'm pressing F4 like the clip above):

ONLYOFFICE_crop.mp4

Hi @hfc2x,
I'm sorry for the long answer.
This hotkey only works in formula editing mode, and this is the correct behavior of the application.
After watching your videos, I realized that you're using the key without switching to edit mode, right?

In the video I'm not switching into formula editing, because that's not how the user expects absolute reference to work (as it's standard from other spreadsheet software).

However, even switching to formula editing does not work either. This shortcut seems to only work when first entering data into an empty cell. If the cell already has any data, it will not work.

But you need to do this to make it work.

because that's not how the user expects absolute reference to work (as it's standard from other spreadsheet software).

For us, the behavior in LibreOffice is not a standard, so we decided to do it the way it is implemented now. Can you give other examples of office software where it's done the way you say the user expects it to work?

However, even switching to formula editing does not work either. This shortcut seems to only work when first entering data into an empty cell. If the cell already has any data, it will not work.

I have already written before that I have tested the operation of the hotkey on different systems and packages.
I checked again on my Fedora 41 (GNOME) system and the official release of the application is 8.3.0.97 (rpm). The F4 hotkey in cell editing mode works in any combination and does not depend on the availability of data in the cells.
