frn is derived as: frn = carflx_bot/122*16+dnitint+2*sediffn2+sediffno3+sediffnh4+2*sediffn2o+sediffno2 All the other variables are presented in the output, but only dnitint is missing. @YanchunHe , sorry for being slow on this. From the CMIP description, it sounds like frn being the net ocean surface nitrogen flux. Standard name: surface_downward_net_flux_of_nitrogen. Hence, I assume that the calculation that you mention for frn: carflx_bot/122*16+dnitint+2*sediffn2+sediffno3+sediffnh4+2*sediffn2o+sediffno2 is based on iHAMOCC-CMIP6-specific variables, right? - which also would mean that the equation used is somewhere in your cmorization scripts and could be adjusted/rewritten accordingly, right?

Hi @YanchunHe , if the workflow is as described in my previous post, one should be able to receive frn by:

frn = ndepnoy + ndepnhx - 2*fgn2 - 2*n2oflux - nh3flux [mol N m-2 s-1]

which is the N-deposition, the N2, the N2O and NH3 surface fluxes.
I would hope that all of those outputs are available on a monthly basis by default. Otherwise, one would need to write them out.

Yes, the previous formulation I used is from the CMIP7 data request Google sheet.

I assume there is no additional arthemtric calculation needed (.e.g, unit conversion).

I therefore updated the corresponding entry in the google sheet with the formulation you specificed.
