It should be great to have an option --log_duplicate which log out as warning similar translation.
It should point out that several developpers had added the same string twice by mistake.

I assume matching case insensitive should be enough
Ok. Note that this means "Confirm" and "Confirm." would not be detected as being duplicated (because of the punctuation)
