How can I keep the submenu open on refresh and also onClick event needed?

When a submenu item is chosen and the page refresh, the submenu goes away while the url is still the same. How can I keep the submenu open?

Also, can you add an onClick event to the _nav.js navigation items? So I can import a function call in. It only has name, url, icon, etc.

I solved the refresh problem.

First you have to pass the props to the NavDropdownItem component:

return <NavDropdownItem key={index} item={item} isSidebarCollapsed={this.props.isSidebarCollapsed} {...this.props} />;
Then inside the navdropdown, add this to compare the current url with the menu url which you are currently on:

` let isExpanded = this.state.open ? 'open' : '';

item.children.map(submenuItem => {
  if (submenuItem.url === this.props.location.pathname) {
    isExpanded = 'open';
  }
});`

Finally, in the same NavDropdownItem file, change this.state.open to isExpanded for that one line, like so:
