Can't use item outside of combat

Not sure if this intended or not yet implemented, but I can't find a way to use an item outside of combat. It would be nice to not go into a battle with low health in case the enemy hits first.

I've been considering this, but I will probably not get to it until the next sub-release for the game (1.1a). I'll keep you updated here when I get it implemented.
