We need to geocode the latest USPS Melissa data for the Population team by May 15th.
Melissa (https://www.melissa.com/) is an address verification company and the Population team uses their Master Address Table dataset for fieldwork. For each address, they need:
- BBL
- Census Block (BCTCB2020)
- Also fine to separate out as Boro Code, 2020 Census Tract, and 2020 Census Block if easier
They would like every row preserved, except for some non-NYC addresses that it has – for example, a limited number of Westchester addresses. Those can just be excluded.
The data is in SharePoint here: Melissa Data 2026. The .txt file should be used, not the csv.
