Cydia not working after jailbreak #652

I have an Iphone 5 with iOS 9.3.2 (13F69), I tried to jailbreak it with jbme4, but that only crashed safari and did not work - so I jailbroke it with the restore.sh script. Everything seemed to work, so I closed the terminal and did not save the logs...
After opening cydia i got the following error: "Could not open file /var/lib/dpkg/status - open (2: No such file or directory)".

After some searching, I found some old reddit posts on how to fix this, but nothing seems to work because I cant connect to openssh or get a terminal working.

What i tried so far:

  • moved the lib folder to /var/mobile/Media/Books with iFunBox
  • Sideloaded Filza with Sideloadly, that can't move the folder to /var because it has no permission
  • Sideloaded mterminal (different versions), crashes immediately
  • Sideloaded newterm, the only version that not crashes immediately is 1.0b1, but there I get the error "ForkException: Not allowed to fork from inside Sandbox"
  • Tried to connect with iPhoneTunnel and iProxy
  • Tried to move the folder with a ramdisk, but I was not sure to which /var to move (there were more than one)

Ideas that I can try:

  • Sideload openssh like this
  • recompile filza or newterm with custom entitlements with full file access (unlikely that it works)

Questions:

  • can i just retry jbme4 or jailbreak with the script or will that brick my phone?
  • should openssh be installed and work after the jailbreak?
  • are there other options to restore cydia or install openssh.

My goal is to get openssh working, without resetting the phone (resetting and losing data is no option).
