Is There a Way to Read Chat Messages via the Kick API?

Hi,
I was directed here from email support and told to ask my question on this GitHub. I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place, but I’ll try:

I’ve been reading through the Kick Chat API documentation, and I can only find the endpoint for posting messages. I couldn’t find anything about how to receive or read chat messages.

Could you clarify a few things?

• Is there a way to access live chat messages through the API?
• What kind of authentication is required for that?
• Does the user need to be the streamer, or can bots/moderators also listen in on chats?

If I’ve misunderstood something in the documentation, feel free to point me in the right direction. Otherwise, I’d love to know if this is something planned or intentionally omitted.

You need to subscribe to the webhook events, and use chat.message.sent. You will need to create and app and get each streamer to authenticate to grant scopes for events.

Btw do I have to be live to read chat or does offline chat still work?

you do not need to be live, all chat messages are received through the webhook events

I can't get them :( haha

I have a successful authorization and a app running with webhooks. Is there any documentation for python how to read the chat? Because I really don't know. Like a guide or something.
