If you package proguard rules in the jar (at META-INF/proguard/jodamoney.pro ) , then minification tools will apply those rules.

For example, you would put a rule like this in that file.

# Keep the DefaultCurrencyUnitDataProvider class and its constructor
-keep class org.joda.money.DefaultCurrencyUnitDataProvider {
    public <init>();
}
