Technical Implementation Notes

DigiDollar Transaction Flow

  1. Minting Process

    • User locks DGB as collateral (150% of DigiDollar value)
    • Oracle provides current DGB/USD price
    • Smart contract validates and issues DigiDollar
    • Collateral locked for minimum 30 days
  2. Transfer Process

    • Standard UTXO transfers with DigiDollar marker
    • No oracle involvement needed
    • Network fees paid in DGB
  3. Redemption Process

    • User burns DigiDollar tokens
    • Oracle provides current price
    • Collateral released based on current value
    • Excess collateral returned to user

Security Considerations

  • Over-collateralization protects against volatility
  • Time locks prevent manipulation
  • Multi-oracle system prevents single point of failure
  • Conservative parameters ensure system stability

Conclusion

This roadmap charts DigiByte's path from a proven blockchain to a comprehensive financial ecosystem. By upgrading to modern Bitcoin Core foundations and introducing DigiDollar, DigiByte will offer fast, secure, and stable digital transactions while maintaining its core values of decentralization and accessibility.

The phased approach ensures systematic development with proper testing at each stage, positioning DigiByte as a leader in practical blockchain applications.
