Question regarding the number of land subregions and shapefile for GCAM v8.2

Dear GCAM Team,

While studying the official documentation, I noticed a slight discrepancy and wanted to make sure I am understanding it correctly. As shown in the attached screenshot, the table indicates 396 subregions, whereas the map figure shows 384. My preliminary check of the land.xml file seems to align with 396. Could you kindly confirm if 396 is indeed the correct count for v8.2?

Additionally, I was wondering if it might be possible to access the latest land-region shapefile for v8.2. I checked the version on Zenodo (https://zenodo.org/records/4688451), but it appears it does not yet include Ukraine as an independent region. If an updated shapefile is available, I would be very grateful if you could point me to it.

@ZilongYue, please try this version of the updated shape files.

And yes, there could be small differences between the number of polygons in shapefiles and the number of land units in GCAM results. The latter should be smaller. You can double-check the diff in files, but those are likely small islands or basins with no meaningful GCAM land representation.

The figure needs to be updated. Post Ukraine breakout (GCAM v7.4), the number of GLU changed to 396 from 384 as the regional definitions changed.
