Question: why do you build your json string by hand?

I'm digging through the source code at the moment and I sumbled over the generation of the json out of the attributes.
Now I got the question why you are building the json by hand and not using just objects and use the WebAPI json serializer?

Thanks for the observation! The answer may be that I didn't know how to do what you suggest. I'm not sure how you would do that when you are reflecting over an unknown dto.

Hi Rich,

I created a simple prototype using your example:

But I already stumbled over the first problem. You can't define identifiers with a dash (e.g. required-msg) in C#. I am looking for a way around this problem.

I found a way around the problem with the dash:

• camelCaseProperties - I think this doesn't need to be included in the library. With my approach you can easily apply some custom formatting rules to the object.

I looked at the code. That is clever...I didn't realize the json serializer would use the dictionary to create the json objects...cool.
