Maybe this should go in a MatrixAlgebra.jl library, with a tensor generalization in TensorAlgebra.jl.

Alternatively, often this is used to left or right orthogonalize a matrix/tensor, so it could be renamed leftorth/rightortho like in TensorKit.jl.
