more docs for devs needed

I was able to go from cloning this repo to a working dev environment this morning with some guidance from @jp-tosca.

I think this is what we did:

```
make install
make build
make run
```

http://localhost:8080
username: admin
password: admin

The README should be updated to explain this better.
