issue with installing the package

I am trying to install the package via pip and it returns some errors

and it finishes with "This is an issue with the package mentioned above, not pip".

I also tried another way, using conda installer, but then it returns "solving environment..." and it won't change even after hours.

I was hoping you could kindly help me install this package. I reached out to one of the authors before and did not receive any email back.

Hi K, Sorry you are experiencing so many issues. Have you tried to install it from the environment file? The pip and conda installation would require some serious refactoring from our side to work but I don't expect it to happen in the short term due to lack of bandwidth. Best wishes

I tried "git clone https://github.com/Hoecker-Lab/protlego.git", and it worked. Thanks
