Sometimes a specific address needs to be reserverd, use-cases:

  • Allocation of broadcast address
  • Allocation (prevent allocation of) network address
  • Gateway

Maybe add a flag to the network that broadcast (and/or) network address should not be allocated

For now the smokeping links for Graz look like this:

http://stats.ffgraz.net/smokeping/?target=Funkfeuer.$NODE

for an overview of all devices of a specific node and

http://stats.ffgraz.net/smokeping/?target=Funkfeuer.$NODE.$DEVICE

for a specific device. These Links are onyl available for nodes/devices which are have the 'smokeping' flag in manman.

But as i mentioned early it would be were nice to have this resources a part of the basic data. That would make migrating such a service much easier.

Whar is the meaning of $NODE, $DEVICE, ...?

The database ids are different in the existing Graz database and in the CNDB-based database.

The above uses the naming scheme of the new database. For the old database it would read $LOCATION and $NODE respectively.
