Use with Laravel

Perhaps I'm not understanding fully the concept of Snowpack but can it be used in a non-SPA context? For example, I would love to be able to use Snowpack to compile my JS/CSS in a "plain" Laravel or WordPress app.

Right now I get 404 errors with Snowpack trying to find index.html files

snowpack build will build your site into a static directory, which can then be served by any static file server.
snowpack build --watch was just merged today (but not yet released, see #782) which builds your site and updates as you make changes, so that you can do development and use your Laravel server instead of Snowpack's built-in dev server.

Great! Is there any advantage to using Snowpack this way over just webpack however? Will I get the same speed improvements?

One difference is that you do need to wait for a full build to complete at the start, so the startup time isn't as fast as dev. But, the per-change speed is === dev and incredibly fast.

This is nice but means no live reload support? could you integrate browsersync or livereload somehow with this approach?

Could someone point me in the right direction as to what snowpack config options I should use to use with Laravel in this way? I'm trying to setup Svelte to use snowpack within a Laravel app

My work so far integrating snowpack with Laravel/Svelte Material UI can be found here:

But I'm finding that any changes to a Svelte component does a full browser refresh. Any ideas as to why this happens?

OK, so it seems this happens in the example app too (https://github.com/snowpackjs/snowpack/tree/main/create-snowpack-app/app-template-svelte)

All I did was add a 'watch' script in package.json ("watch": "snowpack build --watch --hmr") and I have the same issue. Works perfectly with 'snowpack dev' (npm start).

Any ideas?

Hi @MattPurland that's some really exciting work you're doing there. I'm going to look into this and see if I can replicate. Or if you're still working on this you could file a bug (we changed our process and now have a bug template).

Did you make any progress on this? Loving Snowpack and don't want to go back to Webpack, but I also need to get a laravel(valet) app setup with this.
