Question about Expanding String Size for Game Translation in Python Editor #1

Hey, thanks for your work in ROM hacking. I found it fascinating!
I was totally amazed by that editor you created in Python, but I've got a bit of an issue or rather a question.
I'm trying to translate theUultima Exodus NES to my native language (Brazilian Portuguese), and I've run into this string size problem. Is there any way to increase that size?
You see, some words in Portuguese aren't the same length as their English counterparts.
