- Dozens of open networks are available at your fingertips.
- Tablets, watches, and other new devices can automatically join these networks to do nifty things.
- The societal expectation is one of sharing, and, as a result, wireless Internet is more efficient.
- The false notion that an IP address could be used as a sole identifier is finally a thing of the past, creating a privacy-enhancing norm of shared networks.
As for this specific development project, we want to produce router software and hardware which will:
- Enable people to share their internet access with the general public, without complicated configuration.
- Offer the best security and privacy to the network owner and the public user with minimal setup.
- Allow a user to configure their router through any 'smart' device.
- Redefine the user experience for setting up and configuring wireless networks, whilst also educating the public in wireless security and privacy.
- Provide a platform for the development community to provide future security and feature enhancements.
