@hoodriverheather wrote in an email:

Could you help format these pages and reorganize them in Wagtail?

This ticket captures what needs to be done:

Note that Wagtail does not support anchors.

@hoodriverheather now that we can log into the portal again I just started looking at these new pages and they are looking fantastic

I will continue to look at these but for now I need to put #385 as a higher priority since the code freeze is this Friday, 2025-01-17

@hoodriverheather I've created an alternative entry page using the "Site Section" page type I set up in Wagtail a few years ago. Please take a look at it and let me know what you think.

I've preserved your original help page in case you don't like it.

Meanwhile I'm continuing to go through all the child pages and making adjustments, formatting, etc.

@hoodriverheather for the FAIR Data Submission Guidance for EDRN page I've used "raw HTML" to insert an anchor and added a link to jump to it at the top of the page.

Wagtail does not yet support linking to anchors from other pages, though (a surprisingly basic feature that you would expect from any CMS!), so this is as close as we can get.

Other changes done:

  • Many links were "external" links (https://…) that should've been internal (this is important because Wagtail can rewrite internal links if pages moves but can't with external; also affects DEV instances because external links from DEV portal will take you to PROD portal)
  • Formatting to make step-by-step instruction standout
  • Body text in between headings
  • Link checks (going to right places, broken links, etc.)

@hoodriverheather over to you to approve.

@nutjob4life This looks great! What about an image similar to this for the Support Resources box?

@nutjob4life should the FAIR Data Submission Guidance for EDRN page have a link under the Policies page?

I do see it on the LabCAS help page. Maybe that's a question for Dan.

@nutjob4life This looks great! I found that image online, is it ok for us to use? Not sure of all the rules. I think that the updates look great. Did you discuss on staff call? If so, was Dan OK with it?

@hoodriverheather we didn't discuss it on the staff call on 2025-01-29. I suppose this means we can bring it up on 2025-02-04 or ask @dcrichto1 to take a look before then
