⚙️ Backend Setup

  1. Navigate to backend folder cd backend npm install

  2. Create .env COINGECKO_API=https://api.coingecko.com/api/v3 ALPHA_VANTAGE_KEY=YOUR_ALPHA_VANTAGE_KEY FIREBASE_PROJECT_ID=your_project FIREBASE_PRIVATE_KEY=your_key

  3. Run backend npm start

🎨 Frontend Setup

  1. Install dependencies cd frontend npm install

  2. Start development server npm run dev

UI will run on:

👉 http://localhost:3000 (Next.js) or 👉 http://localhost:5173 (Vite)

🧪 Portfolio Simulation Logic

User starts with virtual money (e.g., $10,000)

Buys / sells crypto & stocks at live prices

P/L is calculated using:

profit = (current_price - bought_price) * quantity

Leaderboard compares ROI among users
