Feature: Option for minimal selection

Hi,

it would be really nice to have an option with whom one could define that there has to be one(or x) entry selected all of the time. (Maybe as a new selection mode?)
Which would mean that there would be an automatic selection when rendering the table, when there is only one row in the table this one can not be deselected and there is only one case when there is no selection... when the table is empty.
Would be very nice to have such a behavior.

Thanks for posting this. Sounds like it could be useful behaviour, although its the first time I recall such a request. I think it could be done using the API at the moment, but I'll look into offering this ability in future.

thank you for accepting. I am currently looking how to do this with the api, but I did not find any way the "interrupt" the deselection. So I probably will re-set the selection if the deselected item was the only selected one. Any clues for the best way to do it would be much appreciated.

There is no way to block deselection at the moment. What you'd need to do is listen for the deselect event and if that results in no items being selected then immediately reselect it.

The only other option would be to modify the library to allow blocking.

Hi again,

it worked so far, but now my selection is kind of screwed up, because when "switching" the selection (I'm in single selection mode) I now have a double selection. I is due to the fact that the deselect event gets fired before the selection event and so the test result (in the deselect-Listener) is that there is no element selected, which is true for that moment but is false ...
At the moment I worked around it with a timeout, but it is no solution ... is there a better way to do it ?

Currently no - not as far as I am aware.
