Question on how to use Leptonica #767

Description

@pripple

Hi, I was looking for a solution for occasionally de-warping text images scanned from books and I found this showcase of Leptonica’s abilities: https://tpgit.github.io/UnOfficialLeptDocs/leptonica/dewarping.html

Sorry for maybe asking a totally dumb question. You might open up a new world for me with your answer. I don’t understand so far if the green lines tracking the text lines have been manually drawn or result of an analysis performed by the library. I also don’t understand how to access these functions. Somewhere a CLI utility was mentioned, but if I understand correctly, there is no CLI utility, but the library has to be used inside some development environment. As I have found no other place, I’m asking here if anyone could give me first directions on what steps would be necessary to perform de-warping as described in the linked article. I’m using a Mac, so would I have to look into how to use XCode?

I would appreciate very much if some clue on how to use the Library for the showcased image manipulations was added at an easily spottable place.

Thanks, take care –

Lorenz
