Can I download WSL2 instead of WSL?

In the setup videos Patrick downloaded the WSL, but as the most updated can I download WSL2?
Is there any differences in WSL and WSL version 2?

Honestly, I haven't used either of the two to know if there are differences, but I assume WSL2 should work fine

Yes, you can definitely download WSL2 and yes, there are some differences between WSL and WSL2. You can read about them here.
