How to reproduce
-
Load the Bug Repro project 3mf.
-
Slice the object.
-
Preview the sliced model at about layer 21.
-
Note the infill is like the expected result.
-
Optionally, you can change the sparse infill density to something other than 15% and it will reflect in the sliced model.
-
Cut object at Z 14 and make sure "Cut to parts" is selected.
-
Select the top portion of the model and change the Sparse infill density to 5%.
-
Check AI infill and it will select Grid pattern.
-
Select the bottom portion of the model and note that the Sparse infill pattern has changed to CrossHatch. I'm not sure if that is a bug on its own also, but not the focus of this bug report.
-
Make sure the Sparse infill density is 15% and Sparse infill pattern is Lightning.
-
Slice the model
Actual results
Note that the infill density is not what is expected for 15%. It appears to be using 5%. This is unexpected and suspected to be a bug.
Infill looks like it's 5% instead of the expected 15%:
You can also change the infill density value to some other value, but the end result will still be like what's shown above.
I haven't tried every pattern but it seems to be specific to Lightning pattern. Switching to a different pattern like CrossHatch seems to work.
Expected results
Expected infill at 15% Lightning:
