Cursor & Gemini 3 Flash often hallucinate with MCP commands

During development, I often run into a recurring issue where Gemini gets stuck in a loop. It seems to attempt executing terminal MCP commands but ends up pasting comments instead. Sonnet 4.5 generally handles MCP more reliably, though it occasionally exhibits the same behavior. This likely isn’t a bridge-specific problem, but it can still create friction and confusion for users

I don’t usually encounter issues like this with other RAG tools

This tends to happen with the smaller models, like you say (although I have had much better luck with Haiku 4.5).

Can you please include a specific example of the type of prompt and tool call that it is failing on?
