Through a lot of trial and error we’ve found this plugin to be the culprit on a NGNIX server with a multi site wordpress install.
The problem was that on the front-end nothing that was a term (single taxonomy) was visible on the site, there was no php error, nothing in the console, really nothing that indicated that something was wrong, just terms where not showing.
