Description

We have encountered an issue with the Gutenberg editor when using the Query Loop block. The Post Excerpt Paragraph within the Query Loop block is automatically appending an additional "Read More" link if the excerpt exceeds 56 characters. This is unnecessary and affects the overall appearance of the posts since there's already a "Read More" link just below the excerpt.

The issue only occurs with Neve as with Twenty Twenty-Three theme and Hestia theme it is not happening.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

  1. Create some sample posts and ensure that the excerpts of your posts exceed 56 characters.
  2. Create a page/post and use a query loop.
  3. Increase the maximum number of characters to 55+ from sidebar.
  4. Publish it.
  5. Notice that this additional "Read More" text is unnecessary as there is already a separate "Read More" link below the excerpt.
