As a potential code chica student, I want to see high level information about Code Chicas on the homepage so I can learn about the program and sign up for the next cohort #7
Description
While I love the simplicity of the code chica home page, it would be great to add some additional context about the classes and history on the page. Opening this issue to brain storm some small changes we can make and add more context.
Brainstorming Ideas:
This is just a list of ideas we can agree to commit to or discuss alternatives. If we feel good about a certain idea, we can move the item to the "To do" section below and make the changes in future PRs.
- Add Latinitas logo to the very top of the page so users know this is a program from Latinitas (and link back to the main Latinitas website)
- Add a quick summary of what each of the Code Chica programs involve
- Add info about the upcoming cohorts, including deadlines for signups and the dates of the program (and location if applicable) and link to the appropriate Eventbrite pages
- Add a quick summary of the history of Code Chica, including highlighting some wins like number of cohorts we have had so far, number of graduates, and anything else we want to show off
- Photos of in-person events for code chica we can use (with permission from students and parents)
- Add source under the "Latinas deserve equal pay" graphic, and maybe additional context on why we have this on our homepage
