Support running CloakBrowser Manager and profiles natively on macOS (without Docker) #34

Description

@iamkhalidbashir

Problem

Currently, CloakBrowser Manager and its browser profiles only work within a Linux/Docker-based environment. There is no official or documented way to run the Manager or the CloakBrowser binary directly on a macOS host system without Docker. Many users—including those wanting the best possible performance, hardware compatibility, or system-native integration—would like to manage and launch profiles natively on their MacBooks without the virtualization overhead or limitations of Docker.

Proposal

  • Explore the feasibility of building and shipping native macOS versions of CloakBrowser Manager and the CloakBrowser binary.
  • Provide instructions for installing, launching, and managing profiles directly on macOS (without Docker or Linux emulation).
  • (Optional) Support display/session management using macOS equivalents for Xvfb/VNC if needed, or consider a macOS-native browser embedding approach.

Motivation

  • Improved user experience on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) and Intel Macs
  • Better resource usage and performance compared to running Docker containers
  • Enable automation and integrations not possible with Dockerized solutions
  • Help macOS users who want full feature parity and native system integration

Additional context

If native macOS support is not planned, please clarify the technical or licensing blockers, and update documentation to state this explicitly.

Thanks for considering!
